Is it time to stock up?

We believe that it's always time to stock up if you haven't got any spares lights or batteries in the house. For maximum inconvenience, light bulbs alway seem to blow when it's dark - but then come to think of it, isn't that why you put the light on! And of course it's the same with batteries. You normally only ever find out that they've gone flat when you turn on a piece of equipment that you want to use there and then.

So we recommend that you always have spares to hand and of course, we can also help you find out what spares you need by visiting your home and carry out a 'Lighting Survey'.

What spares should I have?

We recommend that you keep at least one spare light bulb of each type in your house. If you have sufficient space in your house for more bulbs - and they really don't take up that much room - then carry some extra stock if you can afford it. If you're still using incandescent bulbs you would be amazed at how often you change a bulb. However, when it comes to batteries, you may wish to keep one spare set only - unless you have a voracious appetite for the things - as the 'sell by date' can creep up very quickly and you may find your unused batteries are also unusable as they may have expired in the meantime.
